At 26 years old, actress Amy Jackson was an overweight teenager when she first ventured into Bollywood. To be considered for a role in Student Of The Year - directed by Karan Johar - she needed to shed pounds; at her initial audition, she weighed an eye-popping 68 kgs!

She didn't let that stop her, however - she was determined to work hard and lose those extra pounds before her debut. Since then, she has successfully shed 16 kg.

When it comes to fitness, she has never been afraid to venture outside her comfort zone and try new things. Her regimen includes Pilates, Yoga, weight training as well as kickboxing and core strengthening exercises.

Her fitness regimen has served to motivate others to make lifestyle changes in order to shed excess fat and get fit. The most effective way to do so is by working with a registered dietitian and receiving an individualized diet chart.

Start each day off right with a nutritious breakfast: 


Eating protein-rich, carb-rich foods in the right amounts is essential for optimal health. This could include anything from fresh vegetable juice and fruit salads to more complex dishes like roti with dal and curd.

She also incorporates fruits into her breakfast routine as they provide an excellent source of antioxidants. Some popular fruits that she incorporates into her meals are strawberries, blueberries, apples, and pears.

After her morning meal, she hydrates with herbal tea or coffee without sugar to stay hydrated and flush out all toxins from her body. Additionally, she strives to drink at least three to four liters of water daily in order to keep both her skin and body hydrated.

Lunch: 


She opts for a combination of vegetables and proteins at lunch to keep her feeling satisfied for longer. Her go-to dishes include roti with dal and curd, quinoa with chicken, or a bowl of kurmura.

In addition to meals, she strives to incorporate plenty of healthy snacks into her day. These could include something as straightforward as a glass of vegetable juice, a cup of herbal tea, or a small bowl of idli with sambar and dal.

Dinner: 


To keep her energy levels high at night, she opts for foods that are low in calories but high in nutrients and fiber. A typical dinner includes roasted vegetables and lentils on a plate with clarified butter-free flatbread for dessert.

She has several films in the pipeline, including Brahmastra where she will soon share the screen with Ranbir Kapoor. Additionally, she is involved in several production ventures as well.
